OSCARS Fashion Recap!

Good Morning Everyone! Last night was Hollywood's most glamorous night, and I must say, I was not disappointed...in the fashion that is. I was so excited about the hosts, but Anne and James just did not deliver. Anne looked amazing, but James looked like a Cheshire cat for the entire 3 hours. Anyway, let's get straight to who I LOVED and who bombed on the red carpet.

My top 2 best dressed: Halle Berry & Mila Kunis! So gorgeous!

Hailee Steinfeld looked so age appropriate and so fashionable. Love the length of the dress and the high heels! Cute, Cute, Cute!
All of Anne's outfit changes were impressive, but I LOVED this red Valentino! I die!
Reese looks like a blonde bombshell. I love her!
Finally, Natalie Portman hits it right on with her dress. When you are pregnant, you should not be wearing ultra-tight dresses like the white one she most recently wore. Love the plum color!
So Jennifer Lawrence looked HOT last night. I think this was every guy's best dressed!
Hilary Swank's dress was fun with the feathers. Could have been tailored better up top, but I liked it nontheless.
I liked what Gwyneth was wearing, but in my opinion, she did not have a good singing performance.
I like this look on Sandra much better than what she wore (remember matronly looking) to the other awards shows this year. Good job!
Michelle Williams pixie haircut looks so perfect on her. The Chanel dress is pretty...maybe not my favorite, but I just love the hair and the makeup. Is she doing the Madonna thing and trying to take on an accent, b/c I swear in her interview with Ryan Seacrest, she was totally doing that! Weird.
Not working for me Marisa Tomei. She needs to get some spanx!
Scarlett's hair looked hot but everything else did not!
I think Nicole just has weird taste, and her stylist must too!
Melissa Leo...TERRIBLE...you were doing so well up til this point. Good job on the win, but just because a dress is made especially for you, if it is not pretty....don't wear it!
Poor Florence. Urban Outfitters should not be worn on the red carpet (I know it's not UO), this just washes her out. She has such potential...Ugh!
And finally, Cate Blanchett...I do NOT like this one bit. Her hair and makeup did look prettier than usual...but the dress is not happening! I know there were some fashion experts that loved this dress, but I am not a fan.
There were most certainly some exceptional looks last night! I'll be interested to see what Joan says on Fashion Police tonight. I'm sure she will destroy some of the celebrities!
I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. xoxo Court

The "In" Crowd

We decided to celebrate Valentine's Day one day late because the restaurant we wanted to go to did not take reservations until February 15! Most days I really enjoy just going to work out after work, going by Super Target after that, and then finally watching all of my reality TV shows and cooking dinner at night.

However, sometimes I like to be with the "In" crowd. This crowd eats at all the new, one-word, ultra chic places in town, sips $15 martinis, wears platform high heels and super short mini skirts, has their extensions curled a-la Kardashian, and the "house music" is always loud. I do not go to these places every weekend or frequent them and spend my entire paycheck. BUT, I do like to go every once in a while, drink an expensive cocktail or two, dance to the music, wear my heels, and put on wayyyy too much makeup. Don't judge...

Anyway, so last night the boyfriend and I went to ALMA. Yes, it is a one-word restaurant. This is the new restaurant that has taken the place of my all time favorite Cuba Libre. Cuba Libre was first introduced to me by my friend who is always in the know, Lacey. I remember that first mojito like OMG...it was pure amazing-ness in a cocktail. So began my love affair with Cuba Libre. It temporarily closed b/c the owner wanted a new "concept"....paaalllleeeeeaaassseee!

We did enjoy Alma a lot and will go back for another special occassion! A little pricey, but it was fun to try a new ultra-chic place and go "out out" as we like to call it. I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day!!! I am definitely looking forward to my next "in crowd" outing!

Finally, on another note...today is my best friend Becca's Birthday! Happy Birthday Bec! Love you! (had to pull out one from the archive ;)

Something Went Horribly Wrong...

last night at the Grammy's! Who is dressing these people? Obviously NOT Rachel Zoe! I was getting this blog together and anxiously awaiting the images to hit the web this morning. Then, I started looking through my options...and I was VERY disappointed. There are a couple of best dressed nominees at the end of the post, but honestly, this post is GROSS! I couldn't even post two of the worst b/c it wouldn't be right and they would just hurt your eyes...Ciara and Hayley from Paramore...barf! I dare you to look them up.

Ok so here goes NOTHING...The Oscars had better bring it in a couple weeks, because it has not been "broughten" (Thanks "Bring It On")

Lady Gaga in latex...puke!

Nicki Minaj still playing Bride of Frankenstein from SNL...cheetah themed this time
I LOVE Flo, but girrrl...not good...AT ALL!
Oh dear, Xtina, you've done it again...TMZ said it best, this is just not her month...
Snooki Snickers...body hugging sequined mini does not flatter your body type.
I just plain-out don't like this...
Katy...you REALLY disappointed me. The Victoria's Secret look of wings and a sequined bra makes her look super top heavy. I did LOVE her performance though!
Janelle Monae has the most gorgeous face...but the hair and outfit she wears everytime I see her has got to go.
Ok....now on to better dressed nominees,
LeAnn looks pretty!
Selena might be looking a little too mature for her age, but I do love the ensemble.
Lea Michele's dress is beautiful!
Perfect look Julianne! Please return to DWTS! The whole singing thing is just not working for me.
J-Lo, Smokin' Hot. Period! Love the spiked Louboutin's!

...Uh, Roll Tide!

The past week and a half has been out of control with this weather. The only thing that is keeping me going at this point is my Riesling wine. I am not drinking right now because I did make it into work this morning, but it's all good! I'll have a glass tonight and all will be good in the world!

Last Friday I got in my car around 10:30am and tried to make it into work. My poor rear-wheel-drive car just couldn't quite make it up the ramp into the parking lot...so my dad had to come rescue me and then told me to go home. Then when I arrived home, Nick had to push my car into the car port area because I couldn't make it in there either. It was a calamity! Lady loved that I got to come home.

This past weekend we went to Roll Tide Country....aka ALABAMA. Nick's sister and her family moved to Hoover, AL over Christmas and we thought Super Bowl weekend would be a great time to get out of town. Our flight left ON TIME on Saturday morning which I was amazed at, and we spent the rest of the weekend eating, drinking, shopping, hanging out with the nieces, and watching Cameron Diaz stuff A-Rod's face with popcorn...Nice goin' Cam!

I have had a little "thing" against Alabama ever since they beat Tech in the Cotton Bowl 4 years ago. The pom poms almost made me throw up! But, I really enjoyed Hoover and they had all of my favorite stores except for Nordtrom and Dillard's. I judge other cities by what stores they have and if their queso is good! No really...I'm serious. So I totally approve of Hoover because they had an amazing shopping area with Anthropologie and Francesca's and Juicy, etc. etc. & we had queso twice and both times it was fabulous! I will post my pics from the trip when I get home tonight!

Finally, I am really excited about the Grammy's coming up this weekend. I hope Katy Perry pulls off a great outfit!
